We will go and see JulianKnxx‘s first solo show in the Barbican, in its great elliptical exhibition space ‘The Curve’. Sierra Leonian artist Julianknxx uses his personal history to deconstruct dominant perspectives on African art, history, and culture. Offering song and music as forms of resistance, the exhibition invokes new understandings of what it means to be caught between, and to be of, multiple places. We will also visit two new galleries that just opened in the area, Ginny on Frederick and Amanda Wilkinson.
