Certitude Excellence Awards
Michael Rosen
Find out about the man the ultimate accolade at the Certitude Excellence Awards is named after.
The Michael Rosen Award – awarded each year – is the ultimate accolade, chosen from all the nominations by a Judging Panel which includes Board members and Sheila Rosen.
Michael Rosen was the Chair of Support for Living, now part of the Certitude group, until his untimely death in 2008.
Michael’s family have generously continued to support Certitude through the annual awards and have created a legacy of which Michael would be very proud.
Michael’s professional background was in the corporate world, working for many years for three of the UK’s major supermarkets.
When he retired, Michael looked for a way to contribute and give back to his local community and went from Trustee to Chair of the Board of Support for Living, who merged with Southside Partnership in 2010 to become Certitude.
Michael was always in awe of the selfless, unstinting devoted support he saw provided by staff across the organisation. That the work of staff was recognised and appreciated mattered a great deal to him.
When Michael died, his wife Sheila and children Paul, Rachel and Lynn wanted to do something in his name that would celebrate the people who are making a difference every day.
Over the years, we have come together with Michael’s family to celebrate and recognise the great work that people do every day across Certitude. The event has grown year on year and moved venues across London from the Seven Dials in Covent Garden to the QEII Centre in Westminster. From Lords Cricket Ground, to the Chelsea Football Club to The Hurlingham in Fulham.
We are grateful to Michael’s family for their continued support in highlighting the fantastic work that so many of you just consider “doing your job”. We know it’s more than that, so did Michael.
