Living here

The house has a warm and sociable atmosphere and people who live here like to socialise together but also like having the privacy of their own rooms too.

There is a real family-feel as many of the people have lived together for a long time.

The people we support all have a love of music, arts and crafts, cooking and they all enjoy parties, particularly club nights at The Octopus Club.

One of the residents has recently enrolled in a music and movement class called “Joy of Sound” to explore their sensory needs. Staff promote independence and support people to access local amenities and activities.

The team are skilled in non-verbal communication and have experience of various health conditions, including postural care, dysphagia, and dementia. They also share their interests in music, baking, and dance with the people they support as well as creative story telling. The team use objects of reference such as masks, musical instruments and props to enhance the story, making the in-house sessions more interactive.
