Congratulations to Beneta Chihura and Manjit Beghi, both from Haymill Respite team, who have been shortlisted in this year’s Learning Disability and Autism Awards.

Beneta has been shortlisted in the Frontline Leader award category and Manjit has been shortlisted in the Support Worker award category. This is the second year in a row that members of the Haymill Respite team have been finalists in these awards.

Beneta, who is the Registered Manager at Haymill, expressed her happiness in being a shortlisted. Beneta joined the team at Haymill as a support worker when it first opened in 2007 and says she’s particularly proud of the positive reputation the team have built for their approach to support

“Professionals that we work alongside recommend us to families, because of the quality of support we give. Families talk about the lasting impact our support has on their lives as well as on the life skills of the people we support.”

Manjit has worked in the care sector for 20 years and joined Haymill as a support worker almost six years ago. She says she still loves her work and feels that motivation to go that extra mile for people;

“I'm extremely proud and passionate in what I do. Every day is different, and I enjoy getting to know each person and what we can do to support them to live a happy, fulfilled life.”

Join us in wishing good luck to both Beneta and Manjit ahead of the award ceremony on the 6th July, where winners will be announced at the Birmingham ICC.
