Respite
Personalised support, tailored to each person’s needs
Whether you need 24/7 support, a short break holiday cover or short-term evenings only support, we have a long history of providing respite care for people and their families in Wandsworth, Ealing and Hounslow areas.
Our personalised support is tailored to each person’s needs and makes the most of our local knowledge and creativity in supporting people to do the things that matter to them.
Over the years we’ve supported people to:
- Have a home from home break
- Promote independent living skills
- Offer flexible breaks for families
- Find out what social activities are available
- Be proactive in the way they prefer to communicate
- Try new challenges and experience new activities
- Take short breaks and holidays with other people
As people develop and learn new skills, we can adapt the support provided to ensure people continue to maintain their independence, doing the things that matter to them.

Case Studies
Angela's Stay at Haymill
After exploring different support options, the council social work team suggested respite. The family was hesitant at first, unsure of what kind of support Angela would receive.
Haymill quickly proved to be a turning point.
Support for David in Wandsworth
David’s mum explains why the team’s support for her son has been invaluable over the many years that David has been visiting;
“David stays from Friday to Tuesday every three weeks. My husband and I are both in our 70s and care for him at home without any outside help"
Respite support for Sarah
Sarah’s communication had increased impressively from the use of a few keywords when she first joined to communicating in sentences. Her parents were overjoyed and made a special request for the Haymill team to participate in supporting her to move into her new home.
Respite support for Lee
Thanks to teamwork, he is so much more happier and calmer. His mum has said how grateful she is for all the hard work that has helped her son reach a happier time in his life.
He still visits Haymill two days a week for his overnight stays.
