Our Campaigns

Think you know social care?

At Certitude we’re challenging the stereotypes about social care with our new short film told by those who know it best – the people we support and our colleagues.

We know that social care isn't just about day-to-day support – it's about living life to the fullest.

That includes being supported to do the things that many of us enjoy. In our film people told us ‘I like going to the pub’ ‘I love my job’ ‘I love the guitar’, so we want to ensure that decision-makers really understand what’s needed for people drawing on social care to live the life they want.

Social care isn’t broken. The right people just need to be heard so improvements can be made. It is possible!

Watch our film to hear from those that know it best.

Did you know?

More people work in social care than the NHS.*

Social care jobs make up 5% of all jobs in England. Adult social care contributes £55bn to our economy every year. That’s not just support – it's a major economic driver.

As detailed in Lord Darzi’s 2024 report ‘Independent investigation of the NHS in England’

“Social care has not been valued or resourced sufficiently, which has both a profound human cost and economic consequences”

So when you support better social care, you're supporting a stronger economy, more jobs and improved quality of life for millions.

600 people leave work every day to care for a loved one.**

It’s estimated that there are 5-10 million unpaid carers across England. Our support supports them too.

Social care doesn’t just happen in care homes. Social Care is a vital part of all our communities, our neighbourhoods, our families and our homes.

We know a thing or two about social care

With decades of experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with mental health support needs, we know how to make support work for everyone.

Alongside Brandon, Dimensions, Choice Support, MacIntyre, and United Response, we are More Than a Provider. Together we support 12,000 people and employ 21,000 colleagues across England and Wales.

With our combined knowledge we aim to guide government ministers and decision-makers to have a deeper understanding of what people need to live fulfilling lives.

We have the solutions to make social care work better for everyone and we're ready to guide policymakers on what works.
