Kieron and Clare talked about going to Connect and Do Art Wednesdays

Kieron’s Story

Certitude has been supporting me for over 10 years with various projects, but I’ve been coming to Connect and Do sessions for about a year now.

I live with my mum and sometimes my Nan when my mum goes away. I have a sister called Kelly who has children and a dog called Luna. I like coming here as no one moans at me!

My favourite thing is drawing. The workbooks really help me. I sit with Clare – we met in the art sessions. We are happy working together. I like using the Connect and Do workbooks. I draw from them each week. I also do the Choir on Mondays and Brit School drama sessions.

Some of the worksheets are hard and some are easy. At the art sessions I get to help a lot. I get the keys to the art cupboard and take out all the materials and set the tables up for everyone.

Clare’s Story

I have been coming to the Connect and Do sessions for about four months. I live with carers, one of them is here with me. I see my mum who lives in a home. She has dementia which upsets me. I also visit my auntie. But coming here makes me feel happier, especially when I’m feeling upset.

My favourite thing is drawing and colouring. I also love tie dying t-shirts and making necklaces and bracelets and doing the music with Donato. The environment is very relaxing and I feel like I can try new things. Next, I want to learn how to sew. I also want to play the organ. I am going to start the choir this week too!
