An independent flat in Hanwell
Overview
Six flats for people with mental health support needs, where we support individuals to increase their
independence and resilience on their path to recovery. We provide tailored, floating support based on
people’s individual support needs.
Each person works alongside a dedicated keyworker who provides support with health and safety,
budgeting, maintenance of their flat and medical appointments. All support is tailored around the
individual, with the team adapting their skills and training to meet each person’s needs and goals.
The Property
This purpose-built building with 6 flats across 3 floors is set on a main road in Hanwell, Ealing. Each
floor is accessible via stairs only, and there is a car park at the rear.
There are 2 one-bedroom flats on the ground floor and 2 two-bedroom flats on the first floor. On the
second floor, there is 1 one-bedroom flat and 1 two-bedroom flat.
Each flat also consists of:
- a lounge, partially furnished with a sofa
- bathroom with bath, sink and toilet
- a kitchen
Wifi is provided in every flat. The empty flat is on the second floor.
Living Here
Each person has their own flat which they choose to decorate and furnish to their personal taste.
People living here are independent and choose how to spend their time, with the reassurance that staff are close by. Some like to socialise with their neighbours and others have their own social networks close by.
They enjoy going for local walks, spending time with family and friends, playing and writing music, writing scripts and plays, painting and drawing. Friends and family are always welcome and are a key part of supporting people to increase their independence and build their skills.
The skilled and experienced staff team are great at promoting independence by sharing their own skills such as cooking, budgeting and running a home. In addition to this, the team share their interests in
music and learning new languages.
Local Area
The property is close to Hanwell Broadway, Brent Meadows and Hanwell Zoo with great transport links to the rest of London via tube, bus or overground trains.
Within walking distance there are restaurants, cafes, local supermarkets, pubs, churches and a library. A short walk will get you to a gym with a swimming pool and gym facilities.
